The Lahav Association – for Premature Babies in Israel, is a nationwide association established by parents of premature babies in 2004.

The association's vision is to achieve continuous improvement in the quality of care for premature babies, so as to reduce the long-term consequences of prematurity on the lives of premature babies in the future.

The goals of the association are to work for premature babies in Israel at every level that affects their lives and the lives of their family members:
Raising awareness – providing information and information on the problems of premature babies and the plight of premature babies in Israel, including producing information materials and initial training to provide support and information to the parent of a premature baby during hospitalization and prior to discharge.

Promoting legislation related to the rights and welfare of premature babies, support and assistance for the welfare of premature babies and their families – operating a website, a support group in various media, a hotline active 24/7 to answer questions and needs of parents and families, as well as assistance with institutional factors and handling individual problems.

The organization, which relies on volunteers and donations, provides its services free of charge and unconditionally to anyone who needs them.

Throughout its years of activity, the association has achieved many significant achievements, including: extending paid maternity leave for mothers of premature babies and sick infants, RSV vaccinations, promoting the establishment of a breast milk bank in Israel, a Ministry of Health circular for the care of premature babies in the community, a designated allowance for premature babies, and more.

15,000 premature babies are born in Israel every year. Every achievement of the association throughout its years of activity touches in one way or another every premature baby and every family: whether in the cooler they receive at the time of delivery, by contacting the hotline, by assisting in exercising their rights, in our various support groups in the various media, by being an octopus at the time of delivery or afterwards, and also in indirect ways, such as all the above-mentioned rights... that did not exist before.
