Expensive things come in small packages

prologue

On a spring Saturday, morning, voices are heard from Ofri's room: "Mom, Dad...", I go to the room, open the door, and in front of my eyes I see my cute girl stretched out in her bed, smiling her captivating smile, waking up to another day of Shabbat games and fun. "Good morning, my sunshine!" I say to her, and a moment later comes her answer: "Good morning, father", as the poet says: "Saturday morning is a beautiful day...".

Now you must be thinking to yourself, what is the matter here? A perfectly normal story, nothing special. So this is not the case, my cute girl, three and a half years old today, a girl who is developed according to her age except for a speech delay, this girl was born premature, and not just premature, but tiny premature: 670 grams at 28 weeks of pregnancy.
And this is actually the reason for writing this column, to promote the issue of premature babies here in our country, through personal stories and the stories of parents of premature babies and other people close to the issue.

Hello to all readers, my name is Gilad and I am the father of a fetus, and miscarriages, despite popular opinion, usually do not end with release from the womb. In many cases, the struggle between the parents and their child can continue for a long time.

This is where the LB association - for the sake of premature babies in Israel (AR) comes into the picture - a nationwide association established by parents of premature babies and former premature babies for the purpose of promoting and improving the situation of premature babies in Israel, their families, premature babies in Israel and for the purpose of reducing the number of premature babies born each year and increasing awareness of the dangers of miscarriages . Among its many activities, some of them can be mentioned:
Production of initial training booklets to support a premature parent during hospitalization and before discharge -
Renovation of parents' rooms in pre-schools throughout the country. –
Donation of life-saving equipment for premature babies and useful equipment for parents.
Actions to establish a breast milk bank in Israel and encourage pumping and breastfeeding. –
Promoting the topic of preventive treatment against the RSV virus in Israel. –
Extending maternity leave for parents of premature babies and easing the situation of families in the first year.
Uncompromising fight to increase manpower standards in preemies and the disclosure of government reports on the subject.
Representing parents in front of the establishment and handling individual problems. –
- Media exposure to the issues of premature babies and production of surveys and petitions on the various issues.
- Activating a network of contacts in premature babies throughout the country in order to help the parents of hospitalized premature babies.

The LAH association is recognized as a public institution (recognition of donations according to section 46), registered as a non-profit institution (non-profit), and is based on volunteerism. The association was established by parents of premature babies in 2004.
I am attaching links to the association's website, to the Facebook page and to the group of parents of premature babies on Facebook, you are welcome
