These days, MK Orly Levy Abkasis and MK Israel Eichler are actually promoting a law in the Knesset to establish a breast milk bank in Israel. In many developed countries in the world there is a breast milk bank. In the absence of such a bank in Israel, parents who want or need to breastfeed their children are forced to rely on the kindness of mothers or strangers whom they reach through the Internet, in communities on Facebook, and in GMCs in the ultra-Orthodox community mainly. This milk is not monitored and is not bacterially tested.
The Lehab Association - For Premature Infants in Israel (AR) is a nationwide association established by parents of premature infants and former premature infants for the purpose of promoting and improving the condition of premature infants in Israel, their families, and premature infants in Israel and to reduce the number of premature infants born each year and increase awareness of the dangers of miscarriages.
